Bodrum Resort is the most well known resort in Turkey. In the last 10 years tourists choose to have their holiday around Bodrum Peninsula and today Bodrum is the first choice for a great holiday destination.
 
Bodrum was a very small fishing village and today you can find many modern hotels, restaurants and nightclubs around the resorts.

Bodrum offers variety for people during their holiday as one night you can be dancing in one of the biggest clubs in Europe and another evening you can choose a romantic meal for two next to the sea at a small family run restaurant. For these reasons Bodrum Resort attracts both the young and elderly tourists through out the year.
 
You can find Bodrum Flights from many European airports during April to October. During the quieter months, you have connection flights from Istanbul directly to Bodrum. It takes 45 minutes with a domestic flight to arrive in Bodrum Airport (Bodrum Milas Airport) which is situated 25 km to town center.  

Bodrum Shopping

 
Bodrum has a weekly market situated near the main bus station.
 
On Fridays, you can find fruit and vegetables market and on Tuesdays this market offers all your needs from clothes to household goods. Definitley worth a visit between 8am to 8pm.
 
Locals like negotiating for the price for goods, so don´t be shy to ask for a discount when you like something.

As well as the market days, Bodrum Bazaar offers everything that a shopper can need. Leather, jewellery, clothes, food and more. The Bazaar is right in the heart of town and it also have the bars and restaurants around it. Bodrum Shopping is very colourful and we are very sure,it will be one of the higlights of your holiday.

Bodrum Transport

The main ways of travelling around Bodrum are taxis, minibuses, sea taxis and of course walking.
 
Taxis are reletively cheap and you can find many taxi ranks in each resort. They are yellow in colour and all have a taximeter. Prices double after midnight. It is always advisable to ask for an estimate cost for your journey before you get into the taxi.
 
Minibuses, Dolmus, in Turkish are the most popular way of transport around Bodrum. Dolmus is translated as`stuffed´. You will soon realise why the locals call them `stuffed´ as these small buses sometimes can take up to 30 people.
 
Each resort has a different colour Dolmus and normally you can stop them anywhere on the road. Cost of a journey is listed inside the buses and they are normally very cheap to travel with. Just ask the driver to stop when you want to get off the Dolmus.Give it a try, it is a fun experience.
 
Sea taxis are available for some of the hotels and these start from the harbour just by the small fish market. It is also a fun way of getting around as you see some wonderful views of the Bodrum Marina.
 
Probably, the best way of transport is walking around. Everyone likes walking in Bodrum. Nice promenades and many shops keeps you busy and you can always stop in one of the small cafes and enjoy a cold drink in the hot summer months.
